Contemporary Landscape Art

My art extends beyond representation, I seek to unearth the hidden narratives, the buried stories contained within the energetic history of this wild place.  The marks I make, the layers I put down and then remove, again and again, imitate the blooming and scarring of the earth through the ages, both geomorphic and anthropomorphic. Where nothing is completely obliterated, what may seem random is in effect the landscape healing and evolving throughout the ages existing in its dynamic state long after the forces exerted upon it have diminished.

Drawn to my surroundings by ancient history, stunning landscape, and the extraordinary coastline of this land. I delve beyond the surface beauty, seeking to understand the intricate interplay between the external scenery and my internal landscapes contextualised through my mix of personal cultural influences.
